ST SULPICE II RESIDENCE
Poised high above the city with sweeping views of Montreal’s skyline, St-Sulpice II embodies the dialogue between heritage and modern refinement. Martha Franco Architecture & Design revitalized this iconic stone residence—rooted in Westmount’s historic fabric—by introducing light, continuity, and sculptural grace throughout its interiors.
The design reveals a harmonious interplay between the home’s original masonry and the new architectural interventions: a fluid white spiral stair anchored by raw stone walls, expansive corridors framed in glass, and interiors defined by a warm, restrained material palette. Each space was re-imagined to embrace openness and clarity while maintaining the home’s timeless character.
Large windows capture the panorama of the city, filling the living areas with natural light and connecting the architecture to its spectacular setting. The result is an urban sanctuary where historic craftsmanship meets contemporary precision—an expression of quiet grandeur and enduring elegance.
